About the Author

Jess Ainscough is a writer, holistic health coach, and the creator of the health and wellness website, The Wellness Warrior. Via her e-books, daily blog posts, and videos, Jess’ goal is to empower people to take control of their health and show that the quality of our lives is directly linked to how we treat our body and mind.

Her transformation from champagne-guzzling, Lean Cuisine-loving magazine writer to all-out nutrition nerd was made after she was diagnosed with a rare, “incurable” cancer back in 2008.

Deciding she wasn’t having a bar of that “incurable” nonsense, Jess took responsibility for her condition and healed herself with two years of Gerson Therapy. Along the way, Jess developed a obsession with passing on all of her newly learnt wellness wisdom to anyone who was parked in front of her for long enough to listen.

  1. Ms Ainscough admits that she is probably not free of cancer. A while ago she described herself as “with or without cancer, I’m not too sure”. The lesions and contractures in her left arm would certainly suggest that she still has active cancer. Also her mother died of breast cancer a few weeks ago, despite following all of Jessica’s advice.

    • Kris Carr has the same type of cancer she has and the doctors told her there was no way to reverse the damage or to make the cancer go away. Her goal instead was to stop or dramatically slow the growth the best she could with holistic health. Even if Jessica still has cancer and even if her mom died from cancer, doesn’t mean the approach is any less beneficial to them or others who wish to take the same advice. It’s not a one size fits all, but it’s awesome she is trying to offer people knowledge they can use to help themselves should they wish to.

      • Yes, promoting wellness is great but stop giving false descriptions like cancer free because she has a slow growing cancer. She hid this fact until recently because some blogger criticized her.
