The time has come to VOTE for Australia’s Favourite Australian Authors!

Last week, thousands of you took to social media to nominate your favourite Australian authors in Booktopia’s annual reader poll. Your nominations have been tallied, with the top contenders now ready to face off in a series of heats, one every day this week.

Voting in Heats 1, 2, 3 and 4 has now closed. Find out which authors from Heat 1, Heat 2, Heat 3 and Heat 4 will be progressing straight to the finals!

Vote in Heat 5 now! Voting is open until 9am tomorrow (Saturday, January 14 at 9am AEDT).
Plus, if you leave your name and contact details when voting, you’ll go into the draw to win a $1000 RRP book pack!

    I couldn’t find Helen Garner on the list – my fave Australian author.

      Hi Lynne, When Booktopia asked Australia to nominate their favourite authors, Helen didn’t receive enough votes to progress to the next round. I’m sorry about that!

    Markus Zusak – His writing allows you to feel the characters pain, sadness etc. Not too complicated but real. “The Book thief” Unusual title but loved it.
