Booktopia’s come a long way since its first day of operation. In the beginning, CEO Tony Nash took 3 days to sell his first book. Fast forward thirteen years, and Booktopia now sells one item every 8 seconds. That’s 15,000 items per day. 4 million items per year!
We couldn’t have done it without you.
To our loyal readers and loyal book buyers, we couldn’t have made it this far without you. Booktopia wouldn’t be able to employ 150 staff if it weren’t for you. So thank you. Thank you to the 3.6 million Australians and New Zealanders who have bought form Booktopia since its inception. Thank you to the authors who visit us. Thank you to the book publishers who support us. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.

Your purchases make a difference, so thank you!
The Cathy Freeman Foundation is actively involved in the education program for the indigenous children of Palm Island. Every six months, if a school student continues to do well in class and shows signs of improvement, they receive a book pack from Booktopia. Booktopia has supported this worthy program since 2011. Each and every Booktopia customer should be proud that their purchase has contributed to this worthwhile cause.
As stated on The Cathy Freeman Foundation’s website:
Booktopia creates a reading utopia for all 1600 children in our four remote Indigenous communities by donating thousands of books each year. Booktopia provide age appropriate literacy prizes for recipients of the Starting Block Awards and these books are cherished by the children and also help build a love of reading.
